Drill has taken over London and the new mixtape 'The One' by Headie One sets the pace for the rest of the drill rappers to compete with in 2018. 15 songs deep, the tape stays consistent throughout, hence why it's been released on Relentless Records.

The rapper has a delivery that makes him easy to listen too. Different to all other UK drill rappers, Headie adds a relaxed style of singing to his flows. Adding another dimension a genre that can sound all too similar at times.

Standout songs include “The One” which best shows Headies talent to switch flows yet make it seem effortless. If you aren’t similar to the genre, the lyrics can be difficult to follow because of the depth of the slang. But this is what makes it so interesting to listen to at the same time; it makes it easy to repeat just so you are able to pull apart the verses. A standout example of this is for the tune “Know Better”. Headie disguises certain words for “SHH” for one reason or another. You are left to listen to fill in the blanks (if you can).

Headie brings features from all the big hitters in the genre, Dimzy from 67 had a huge year last year and K-Trap is the other big force to come. However, for a mixtape with a large number of features, sleeks gives off the biggest impression on the track ‘Cargo’. His personality comes across the strongest, over a hard beat.

There is much to come from Hedie One, you can tell from his first solo mixtape he is eager to impress.
